Top Farm Barn

I was approached to undertake this project due to a referral from a previous client.  The barns had been purchased with planning permission to convert in to two separate dwellings; however this is to be the forever home for my client and therefore we re applied for it to be one single dwelling.  The complex of barns are set on an undulating piece of land, the main challenge being site levels and linking the different spaces.  In order to retain the agricultural characteristics the designs introduces a glass link distinguishing between the buildings. Sympathetic materials similar to those existing on the site have been proposed to enhance the aesthetics.

Detailed construction drawings have been produced to comply with the recently updated Building Regulations 2022 along with SAP calculations to justify the energy efficiency performance of the building.  The project is currently under construction, and I am providing on going support and consultancy to the client who is self-building it.  This is going to be a lovely place to live.
